The Jamaat-e-Islami Multan has nominated its candidates for Chairman, Vice Chairman and councillor offices from union councils located in provincial constituency PP-198.

Addressing a news conference here on Wednesday, the Amir of PP-198 Sheikh Manzoor Elahi and group leader Dr Safdar Hashmi said that the JI would fully participate in local government election and field its candidates in all union councils. They declared that Tariq Masood would be chairman candidate from UC-36, Muhammad Aslam Asifi UC-67 and Waqas Yousuf UC-79.

Similarly, Sheikh Israr, Anwar Hussain, Muhammad Aslam and Rana Muhammad Zafar will be councillor candidates from UC-35 and Asghar Imran UC-76.

They said that the JI was the only democratic, Islamic political party in Pakistan that advocated Islamic revolution in the country. They added that only JI parliamentarians were clear of corruption stains as its workers entered parliament and other houses with the passion to serve the nation. They declared that the doors of JI were open to all and the adjustment decisions would be made at appropriate time.
