The personnel of Pakistan Army, the Punjab Police and other law enforcement agencies carried out joint mock excise to check preparedness for coping with any terrorists attack in city.

The excise was conducted at Ghazi University, DG Khan here on Wednesday.

DPO DG Khan Ghulam Mubashar Maken headed the mock exercise while ASP Shahbaz Elahi led forces in the drill. Civil Lines police SHO Ali Imran, B-Division Police SHO Nasrallah Malkani and Elite Commando Jahanzeb Khan demonstrated their skills along with personnel of Pakistan Army.

During the drill, the joint force acted on a tip-off that there was a terrorist, carrying explosive material at the campus of Ghazi University. First, Elite Commando Jahanzeb with cops reached the spot.

Later, personnel of Pakistan Army, Police Force, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, Special Branch, the District Health Department, Counter Terrorist Department and Intelligence agencies approached the campus. They all jointly searched the explosive material, arrested the terrorists and brought the situation control.

After the exercise, DPO Maken told the Ghazi Khan University staff that the law enforcement agencies have broken the backbone of terrorists and the war against terrorism has entered its decisive phase. He said that crackdown under National Action Plan would continue on outlaws and miscreants till achievement of the desired results.

The police officer also requested the university administration to follow directives of the Punjab Police on security.
