ISLAMABAD : The National Assembly’s 25th session will start from October with some important national matters on its agenda. The proceedings of the lower house will not be held in September as the 61st Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference is being held in Islamabad from 30th September to 8th October. “The proceedings of the house will start by the mid of October,” a spokesman for the National Assembly Secretariat told The Nation, sharing a tentative schedule of the house proceedings.

The upcoming NA session will discuss in detail the matter regarding the murder attempt on MQM lawmaker Abdul Rashid Godil. National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq will throw light on progress regarding MQM MPs’ resignations. The house may also be taken into confidence about Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s recent visit to Russia. The opposition parties will raise the issue of security threats to lawmakers and inappropriate security measures by the government.

Opposition parties, including PPP, PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami, are also set to submit adjournment motions on the worsening law and order situation in the country.
