LAHORE - Police have been ordered to ensure the protection of accused sexual abuse with children in Kasur district against their possible encounter.

A two judge bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Justice Muhammad Anwarul Haq heard the petition filed by Sakeena Bibi, widow of suspect Shafih-ur-Rehman.

The bench also allowed petition of another woman, wife of a suspect, challenging section of Anti-Terrorism Act in the FIRs registered in the incident. The widow told the bench that police killed her husband in fake encounter and there were a very likelihood that other suspects could be subjected to same treatment. She said some other members of her family were also in police custody for their alleged role in the scandal.

She stated their lives were in danger at the hands of the police. She prayed to the court to order the police to ensure protection of other accused persons. The other woman had pleaded the bench to order the police not insert section of Anti-Terrorism Act in the FIRs lodged in the said incident. The court disposed of the petition.
