LAHORE: Investigations police on Wednesday claimed to have smashed two gangs of motorcycle-lifters by arresting their six members including the ringleaders. The police also seized 16 motorcycles, master-keys and illegal weapons from their possession.

A police spokesperson said that Lahore SSP (Investigations) Rana Ayyaz Saleem constituted special police teams to track down the elements involved in auto-lifting and street crimes. Two separate teams of Factory Area police arrested six members of two gangs. The police have also recovered Rs 500,000 and illegal weapons from their possession. The arrested bandits were identified as Muhammad Ahmed, Asif, Sabi, Khurram Masood, Muhammad Yasin, and Muhammad Akram. Further investigation was underway. CCPO Muhammad Amin Wains has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police team.–Staff Reporter
