PPL donates equipment to Murshid Hospital

KARACHI (PR): Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has donated equipment worth Rs 20 million to Murshid Hospital and Health Care Centre (MHHCC), Hub for its various faculties. MD & CEO PPL Syed Wamiq Bokhari handed over the equipment to Medical Director MHHCC Dr Abdul Sattar Jaffer in the presence of Chairman MHHCC Abdul Razzak Jaffer as well as officials from both organizations at a simple ceremony held on August 19 at the hospital.

Bokhari appreciated MHHCC’s efforts for providing quality healthcare to deserving local communities as well as those coming from adjoining remote areas in Balochistan. He highlighted that being a leading national E&P company, PPL remains committed to serve the nation with a focus on improving quality of life for the underserved not only through its business but also by implementing viable development initiatives.

PPL has earmarked an annual budget of 1.5 percent pre-tax profit for Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, with actual spending touching nearly 5 percent in the last financial year. The company has been declared the largest corporate giver in terms of volume of donations for 11 consecutive years by Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy.

Established in 1987, MHHCC is now a 150-bed facility located at Hub, Karachi. The hospital has male and female wards, intensive care units, operating theatres, blood bank and a 24-hour emergency wing with surgical facility managed by over 300 qualified staff.

Developed with a vision to reach localities in the remote suburbs of Karachi and bordering Balochistan, MHHCC has evolved as the only state-of-the-art facility in the vicinity during the last 25 years.

 

Meeting at TDAP

KARACHI (PR): Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID-AMD) Project Coordinated Efforts has helped increase the exports of Pakistani agriculture Products.

The US-Pakistan Partnership for Agricultural Market Development (AMD) project team led by Peter Dickrell, Chief of Party, and the TDAP team headed by Secretary Ms Rabiya Javeri Agha, met at the head office of TDAP in Karachi to coordinate and maximize ongoing trade and export development efforts through targeted support and facilitation of services to Pakistani exporters. The strategic collaboration between TDAP and USAID-AMD project is expected to result in the effective utilization of resources, and will provide a structured approach to engaging international buyers at the various international trade show events, subsequently leading to an increased awareness of Pakistani targeted product lines, more sales leads and sustainable increase in agriculture exports.

The AMD project is a USAID funded activity with the goal of supporting the development of Pakistan’s commercial agriculture, particularly through improving the ability of Pakistan’s agriculture and livestock sectors to meet international requirements, improve market linkages and support supply-demand synergies between producers and buyers. AMD’s implementation strategy is underpinned by a strictly commercial and market driven approach.

 

Red Bull Campus Cricket

KARACHI (PR): After narrowly losing the 2015 final to Jinnah Government College, Karachi, the University of Central Punjab Lahore (UCP) went a step ahead on Wednesday night to win the Red Bull Campus Cricket 2016 Pakistan Champions title with an overwhelming victory over former champions Karachi University (KU).

Red Bull Campus Cricket has played a leading role in spreading the game far and wide by involving teams from every nook and corner of the country.

 

SNGPL announces prize for squash champion

LAHOIRE (PR): The squash player of SNGPL Israr Ahmed has won World Junior Squash Championship after 8 years. In the same connection, a welcome ceremony was held in SNGPL head office where Amjad Latif, MD SNGPL, also announced a prize money of five hundred thousand rupees (Rs500,000) for the squash champion.

MD SNGPL Amjad Latif, President Sports Cell Sohail Gulzar, Vice President Sports Cell Waseem Ahmad, Sr General Manager HR/LS Azam Khan Wazir, General Secretary Ashraf Nadeem, Manager SNGPL Squash team Farrukh Ameen were also present on the occasion. All participants congratulated Israr Ahmed on his historical victory, and also prayed for his glorious future.

 

Telenor-NH&MP

ISLAMABAD (PR): In order to further ensure safety and security of its employees, Telenor Pakistan has collaborated with National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) through its Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) department. The collaboration facilitated a series of sessions on driving safety for Telenor Pakistan’s teams across the country. Under NH&MP’s supervision, Telenor Pakistan developed and distributed a driving and road safety handbook amongst its employees while over 1,000 handbooks were handed over to NH&MP.
