GUJRANWALA/BAHAWALPUR-A young girl was kidnapped by unknown persons while she was on her way to college at Satellite Town here on Friday.
Shiza and her sister were going to college when unknown persons riding on a car forcedly took her in the car and fled away. Listening to the cries of her sister, people gathered there and informed the police.
On the other side, a man along with his son tortured his wife and cut off her hair. Bashir, a resident of Ratta Bajwa, had suspected her of having relations with someone. He asked his wife Kosar to hand over her mobile to him. On her refusal, Bashir along with his elder son started torture Kosar and cut off her hair.
IMPOSTER THRASHED: Citizens held a fake meter inspector and thrashed him brutally. Saleem representing himself as meter inspector was busy collecting money from the citizens by threatening them that their electric meters were broken. When some persons asked him about his departmental identity card he got confused and citizens started torturing him. Later he was handed over to police.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami leaders expressed concern over the abduction of the children, and said that it seems there is no government in Punjab.
JI District Bahawalpur Ameer Dr Ashraf and Ameer City Syed Zeeshan Akhtar said that abduction of children from Lahore and other areas of Punjab is very sad and concerning.
They said that according to Punjab police’s own report, during 2015-16, 1,803 children were abducted from which 1,715 were recovered while in 2016’s first 5 months, 767 children from different cities of Punjab were abducted, 715 were recovered while 52 are still missing. The government and administration in this matter should take strict action and bust the gang as soon as possible so that atmosphere of fear throughout the province can be eliminated, they said.
In the last 6 years, only in Punjab, 6,793 children were abducted which is a big question mark on the performance of the Punjab government. They stressed a need to make a joint plan of action for the protection of children rights on emergency basis. They added that criminals who abduct children for begging.
They said that in Punjab, lawlessness has crossed the limits and crime rate is increasing day by day. They said government of Punjab should take immediate note and make the police and other law enforcement institutions active.
