Rawalpindi  - The investigators of Homicide Investigation Unit (HIU) yesterday claimed to have recovered the knife used for stabbing the females from the house of aunt of accused Muhammad Ali at Kotha Kallan.

According to police, the accused used the knife to stab girls and women in streets and on roads of Kotha Kallan and its suburbs. A nurse of Fauji Foundation Hospital was killed in fatal knife attack while her colleague sustained life threatening injuries. Similarly, eight more girls and women came under knife attack.

According to an HIU investigator, who sought anonymity, a team of HIU headed by Sub Inspector (SI) Zulfiqar has taken the accused to house of his aunt at Street Number 3 (commonly known as Kebabu Wali Street) in Kotha Kallan and recovered a knife he used to stab the women and girls.

He said that the recovery of knife has been mentioned in case record.

On Wednesday last, 19-year-old young boy Muhammad Ali, was remanded in police custody for four days at court of a duty judge.

However, police have not produced psychiatric report before the court as investigators claimed the accused was a psychopath because of torture on him by his stepmother.

Muhammad Ali of Kahuta was nabbed by police on account of killing a nurse and stabbing other girls in Kotha Kallan and its suburbs within limits of Police Station Morgah.

According to details, a team of Morgah police led by Station House Officer (SHO) Malik Kausar produced the accused before duty magistrate Faisal Salim and pleaded for 10 days of physical remand for interrogating him. However, the judge turned down the police plea and awarded only four days remand.

The court ordered police to re-produce the accused again on August 21 for further proceeding against him.

DSP Civil Line Circle Farhan Aslam, when contacted, said that Muhammad Ali was produced before court and has now been remanded in custody till August 20 when he would be produced in court again. He said that the accused confessed his crime before investigators. He said that the boy was involved in launching fatal knife attacks on women and girls because of mental disorder. “His stepmother tortured him in his childhood that filled his heart with hate against females. That is why he stabs girls,” DSP claimed.

However, an a query that had police underwent the boy for any medical test so far, DSP replied that police would bring him to hospital for psychological test and would also present psychiatric report on next date of hearing.

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) grilled Muhammad Ali for more than five days and later handed him over to Morgah police that shown his official arrest in police record on Monday last.

As many as 40 suspects, including Usama Khalid, cousin of Muhammad Ali, have been lifted by police and CTD during massive search operations in Morgah in connection with knife attacks.

All were given clean chits after thorough investigation.
