Rawalpindi - A five days workshop on Professional Career Development for graduating students concluded at the Fatima Jinnah Women University yesterday. The workshop was organised by the Career Counseling Centre of the university.

The purpose of organising the workshop was to provide orientation to the graduating students of Master and Bachelor programmes to make them better understand the job market and to provide them a deep insight of what is expected of them when they will be entering the job market.  The workshop comprised eight sessions of Career Counseling and CV Writing was conducted by Dr Sajida Naz, Assistant Professor Behavioral Sciences,  Job Interviews skills by Maria Faisal Educationist, Time Management by Maria Zahoor, Financial Manager USEFP, Adobe Photoshop by  Ayesha Qamar, Lecturer FJWU, Communication Skills by Dr Salma Nazar Khan, Job Search Strategies by Syeda Gul Zehra Rizvi, Personal Grooming and presentation skills  by Samana Rubab, Assistant Director Communication and Publication.

All speakers shared their good as well as bad experiences which paved the way to their success in order to make students aware that failures are a part of life and they should not get de-motivated. The speakers also highlighted the fact that to become a successful professional, dedication towards your goals, hard work and commitment are very crucial factors. They guided and briefed the tips that how to compete in this challenging job market.  The closing ceremony was organized on last day of the workshop. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr Samina Amin Qadir, Fatima Jinnah Women University grace the occasion. While expressing her views, Dr Samina said that, Higher Education Commission has taken initiated to set up Career Counseling Centre for grooming of graduating students and their job placement in various organisations and to build networking with alumni.

This workshop is organised to achieve the objectives. She motivated graduating students to keep in touch with university as alumni. Dr Samina also shared her valuable experiences with workshop participants.

The Vice Chancellor also presented university souvenirs to the resource persons.

At the end, Humera Sadia, Placement Officer gave the vote of thanks to the distinguished guests and students to be a part of this workshop.
