Altaf phones Sh Rashid

KARACHI Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Quaid, Altaf Hussain, on Sunday telephoned Awami Muslim League (AML) President, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, and discussed overall political situation in the country, problems being faced by the people and other issues of mutual interest. Both the leaders agreed on the point that the country was in the grip of crises and the life of ordinary people had become difficult and burdensome due to unbridled corruption and unchecked inflation. They said that the political leadership must exhibit unity of purpose to bring the country out of tentacles of crises. While talking to Rashid, Altaf said that the independence and self-will of the country was at stake because of foreign funding and dictation in internal affairs of the country. Rashid underlined the need for bold steps from political leadership in the interest of the country by setting aside political feuds. Both the leaders agreed on maintaining contacts in future for working together.
