KHAIRPUR - Provincial Minster for Industries Manzoor Hussain Wasan has said that democracy will not derail due to the arrival of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

He said he had predicted five months ago that Asif Ali Zardari will come back in the current year.

Talking to media persons after meeting federal and provincial officials at Darbar Hall DC office here on Monday, Wasan predicted that 2017 will be the election year.

He added that the upcoming census would show Pakistan’s population much larger than before; resulting in increase in the number of seats in the national and provincial assemblies.

He hoped that PPP would get 50 percent seats in Karachi.

He opined that having a full-fledged foreign minister was must in view of growing voice of country on foreign issues. He said that Zardari was arriving on the call of people.

Earlier, addressing a meeting, Wasan emphasised the promotion of education and completion of all development schemes within the stipulated time.

Commissioner Sukkur Abbas Baloch, Deputy Commissioner Khairpur Muhammad Saleem Rajput, Chairman District Council Khairpur Sharyar Wasan, DHO Dr Nisar Ahmed Phulpoto, DO Education Liaquat Ali Khaskheli, Engineer Education Works Janib Bhambhro, Sepco and others attended the meeting.
