Indonesia eager to deepen ties with Punjab

LAHORE - A group of Indonesian investors has shown keen interest in investing in Punjab. The group said that Punjab government is taking revolutionary measures to boost investments and create an investment friendly environment in the province.

A high profile Indonesian business delegation is on a 3-day long visit to Punjab from 19th to 21st December 2017, with an objective of establishing and boosting trade relations between the two countries. The delegation is led by Alwi Shihab, Special Envoy of Indonesian President for Middle East and OIC. Top ten representatives from wide range of sectors including construction, textiles, auto parts and food industry are part of this delegation.

In honor of Alwi Shihab, Special Envoy of Indonesian President for Middle East and OIC, Jahanzeb Burana, CEO PBIT, has arranged an exclusive Pakistan-Indonesia Business Forum at 90 Shahra-e-Quad-e-Azam.

The Indonesian delegation acknowledged the Punjab government’s initiatives to make the environment investment-friendly. He said that this landmark visit is of utmost importance as it would explore new avenues for trade, investment and joint ventures that would help in accomplishing the mutual target of sustainable economic development.

The delegation also visited few potential sites such as Faisalabad Industrial estate and PIEDMC, where they got engaged in extensive B2B meetings and discussed available opportunities. Indonesian delegation showed their immense interest in expanding their business. A presentation regarding Special Economic Zones, concerning the overall investment opportunities in Punjab regarding business, agriculture and tourism were displayed to the valued delegation. Pakistan-Indonesia Business Forum arranged by CEO PBIT, Jahanzeb Burana will be a great occasion for the business communities from both counterparts to collaborate and discuss the potential opportunities present in the province.

This fruitful interaction between Punjab and Indonesia is part of the persistent efforts of PBIT to outreach investors and promote Punjab as an ideal business destination.
