Work pace of projects reviewed

WAZIRABAD: A tehsil administration team visited Union Council Dhaunkal to review the work pace of development projects worth Rs2.5 million. AC Noorul Ain checked the ongoing cleanliness campaign launched in Dhaunkal and other villages. The government of Punjab has released Rs2.5 million for development project which include the construction of streets, drains and sewer system. The deputy director directed AC to visit the development schemes. She also visited ongoing cleanliness campaign earlier launched in various villages including Dhaunkal and expresses her satisfaction over the speed and quality of the work.

Fired cop set himself ablaze

HAFIZABAD: A police constable, who was recently dismissed from service on the charge of negligence, attempted to commit suicide by setting himself ablaze near Kolo Road. According to rescue sources, Usman of Mian da Kot Hafizabad was recently dismissed from his service when he was posted at Kassoki police station. He was unemployed and was fed up and frustrated due to his poverty. He went to the field near Kolo Road and set himself on fire after sprinkling petrol.


His more than 50 percent body was seriously burnt. He was rushed to the DHQ Hospital from where he was referred to a Lahore hospital in critical conditions.
