WASHINGTON - Former US presidential contender and Senator John McCain has endorsed US talks with the Taliban, reported ABC News on Sunday. "I think it's important to have talks wherever you can," said McCain, speaking from Afghanistan. "We have to have an outcome on the battlefield…that would motivate a successful conclusion." McCain recently said he was for a long-term American presence in Afghanistan.
