KHANEWAL - The parents protested against the sudden hike in the academic fees of Khanewal Public School and College (KPC&C), here the other day.

As per detail, the school administration served notices of hike of Rs200 per student. The angry parents called the sudden fees hike unjust and demanded the DCO to repeal the notice. Talking to media, the parents accused the administration of incapability to fill the financial deficit and shifting the burden to parents alone.

The Principal Syed Nasir Ali elaborated that the total income of the institution was Rs1.3 million and expenditures exceeded to Rs2 million, in order to minimize deficit the step was mandatory.

Whereas the parents argued that as the institution was managed by the district government, it was their prime responsibility to provide them relief as the students enrolled at the school mostly belong to lower income families.
