LAHORE – Post Graduate Medical Institute organised a workshop on dengue for healthcare providers at Lahore General Hospital on Sunday.

Specialists provided training to the doctors belonging to Attock, Bahawalnagar, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Chakwal and Bhakkar districts about how to treat dengue patients and about precautionary measures against the menace. Prof Shoaib Randhawa, Dr Imran Hassan Khan and Dr Sheraz Anjam equipped the participants in detail about handling of dengue patients.

PGMI Principal and LGH Prof Tariq Salahud Din expressed hope that dengue would not be so damaging this year due to proper arrangements of the government and updated knowledge of doctors. He said Pakistani experts’ knowledge of Thailand model and public awareness about this disease would be helpful to reduce the damage. He said a vigorous awareness campaign must be started as such a disease could be avoided through prevention.
