LAHORE - University of Management and Technology, Lahore, and LumenSoft Technologies Pvt. Ltd. organized a retail conference on February 19, 2014 which was held at the Pearl Continental, Lahore.
Dr Abdul Rasheed Kausar, world renowned professor of knowledge management and Director, Institute of Applied Science (IAS) at UMT, welcomed the delegates and distinguished guests on behalf of Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, Rector UMT. He then discussed the academia and business linkages for retail industry. He stated that UMT is providing the latest and emerging marketing models that will enhance the co-creative knowledge and skills which will be fruitful in the near future. He added that UMT Business School students have recently won Synergies 2014 assessed by Harvard faculty.  Dr Kausar said that working with LumenSoft Pvt. Ltd. has been a mutually beneficial experience.
Earlier, Abdul Aziz ,CEO, LumenSoft Pvt. Ltd. ,gave the welcome address. Mobin ul haque, Chairman Department of marketing, Manqoosh ur Rehman, Assistant Professor UMT, Syed Rashid Hussain Shah, Assistant Professor UMT, Haroon Ahmed, CEO Access Retail, and Monis Rehman, CEO Rozee pk, also shared their thoughts and views. The objective of this conference was to share experience of retail industry, to figure out new emerging trends, and to decide upon the future course of action for meeting the challenges of fast changing retail landscape. This conference provided a great opportunity for the retail community to network amongst their peers and benefit from each other’s experiences.  Best practices in the industry were discussed and provided opportunity for new and upcoming businesses to learn more from the discussions and one on one interaction.
