ISLAMABAD - Top seed Danish Atlas Khan beat his elder brother and second seed Aamir Atlas Khan in the final of the $6000 Kish Persian Gulf Cup 2014 Squash Championship on Wednesday. Talking to The Nation from Kish, Danish, who was the top seed of the event, said: “It was a very tough match with Aamir, who is current Asian Senior Individual Squash Champion. He played really well, as he was still not 100 percent fit which allowed me to beat him 11-7, 10-12, 11-9, 11-8 and win the title.” Danish said that earlier in the semifinal, he beat Yosif Nizar Saleh 3-2 while in the second semifinal, Aamir had to really dig deep to win his encounter against sixth seed British Youssef Abdalla. “It was a moral boosting victory for me, as I needed a title badly to restore my confidence,” Danish concluded.
