rawalpindi - The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out an operation against drug mafia and seized 6.39 tons of opium, ANF Headquarters Spokesman Sami Ullah Khan informed yesterday. According to him, ANF Quetta while conducting a successful intelligence-led operation at Killi Khawara, Tehsil Roghani, District Qilla Abdullah and recovered 6.039 ton opium. He said that the drug consignment was concealed at a desolate site situated in mountains far away from the populated area. During the operation, ANF also seized an unattended Toyota single cabin vehicle from the scene. Drug was stuffed in plastic sacks. The value of the seized drug was told to be Rs7 billion in the international market, he said.

Furthermor, ANF Rawalpindi during routine checking near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza, Attock, stopped a car and recovered 3kg Hashish concealed in it. An accused on board was also arrested during the operation.

Cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigation was under away, he informed.
