rawalpindi - Police carried out search operation yesterday in various areas of Saddar Circle to clear these localities of criminals and anti-state elements.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Circle Dr Sardar Ghias Gull, Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) Saddar Circle, Airport and Cannt Sajid Gondal, Farhan Aslam and Iqbal Kazmi along with heavy contingent of police conducted the search operation on instructions of City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi.

According to details, a heavy contingent of police carried out door to door search operation in the areas of Mubarak Lane, Mumtaz Market, Dhama Syedan, Ali Town, Munawar Colony and Hill View and checked a large number of houses and collected the data of tenants.

However, no arrest was made. On the other hand, Sadiqabad police also conducted search operation in Dhoke Kala Khan and its suburbs and checked six hostels. During checking, police interrogated a total of 300 students and compiled their data.

Talking to The Nation, CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi said that police have been conducting search operations on daily basis to clean up the city from outlaws, suspects and terrorists.

He added that the search operations was part of National Action Plan (NAP) devised by government and Pakistan Army to curb the menace of terrorism.
