LAHORE - The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has announced to seize the bank accounts of Royal Palm Golf and Country Club due to alleged tax evasion, recovering Rs0.9 million from this bank account.

The Royal Palm Golf and Country Club failed to deduct Rs1.8 million from its catering vendor in the last one and a half years, as a withholding agent.

PRA officials said that a half of the amount had been recovered of a total Rs1.8 million tax default against Mehran Caterers, a vendor of the Royal Palm Club owned by the Main Land Hussnain (Private) Limited. It’s a tip of an iceberg, the officials added.

They said the PRA team, after failing to receive the amount despite several attempts, took action and attached the bank account of the club.

They said the club had promised to give the remaining Rs900,000 in two weeks, adding detailed investigations had also been launched to identify other vendors of the club and their tax default.

The FBR teams attached nine accounts of the Lesco in different banks of the provincial capital after getting no response from the company against several tax notices. Officials said the accounts would remain attached with the FBR till the recovery of the remaining amount.
