Domestic violence victim battles for life

 

Lahore: A 27-year-old woman, who was admitted to the Jinnah Hospital with multiple burns the other day, was battling for life till late Monday. The resident of Kasur district, Iram Bibi, was rushed to the Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital with 80 percent burns on her body.  Her father told reporters at the hospital that Iram was set on fire by her husband and in-laws over some domestic dispute. He appealed to the provincial authorities to take notice of the incident and ensure immediate arrest the attackers.  Doctors were struggling to save her life at the intensive care unit till late Monday night.  Meanwhile, Punjab Police Inspector General Arif Nawaz Khan took notice of the latest incident of domestic violence and ordered the police to bring the culprits to justice.
