CDWP to discuss projects worth over Rs145b in its upcoming meeting

ISLAMABAD-Central Development Working Party (CDWP) will discuss projects worth more than Rs 145 billion in its upcoming meeting scheduled for Monday. The CDWP will discuss projects related to energy, health, transport & communications and water resources. Concept clearance of three projects will also be tabled to the forum, said the agenda of the meeting available with The Nation.
In energy projects, Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan will make a presentation to the CDWP. There are eight projects of the health sector which will be placed before the forum. The revised PC-I for Khyber Institute of Child Health & Children Hospital worth Rs 7.995 billion, working paper for Covid-19 Emergency response & ensuring universal health coverage in Islamabad Capital Territory worth Rs 4.68 billion and Social Health Protection phase-II (KFW Grant) in GB costing Rs 972 million will be tabled before the CDWP for approval. Similarly, the establishment of cardiology unit & burn/trauma unit at DHQ Malakand KP worth Rs 1.171 billion, establishment of accident and emergency department in DHQ Hospital Charsadda KP Rs 1.636 billion and establishment of 200 bedded mother and child hospital and nursing college District Bahawalnagar worth Rs 5.747 billion will be presented to CDWP.
The government of KP’s two projects including Covid-19 responsive and other natural calamities control program, construction of cardiology and gyne units at Saidu group of teaching hospitals Saidu Sharif Swat worth Rs 2.290 billion and strengthening of DHQ hospitals in KP worth Rs 3.344 billion will be presented to the forum. 
In transport and communication sector, three projects will be presented to the CDWP. The projects include procurement of 600 flat container Bogies Wagon (ZBFC). The ministry of Railways is the sponsoring agency of the project and will cost Rs 20.298 billion. The local funding of the project is Rs 11.810 billion while the Foreign Exchange Component (FEC) is Rs 8.488 billion. Construction of Hoshab-Awaran-Khuzdar Section of M-8 Project section-2 Awaran-Naal (Length 168km) is also on the agenda. The cost of the project is Rs 32.504 billion. The forum will also discuss project for dualization & improvement of Sohawa-Chakwal Road (2nd revised). The cost of the project is Rs 7.981 billion. In water resources, two projects will be considered by the CDWP. The project of Rainee Canal (Phase-1) worth Rs 20.534 billion will be considered by the forum. Similarly, the 2nd revised PC-I of multipurpose Gomal Zam Dam project worth Rs 26.823 billion will also be considered by the CDWP.
