Gilani asks PR to improve service

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday directed the Pakistan Railways to improve and ensure fast, timely service to the people. Talking to Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Minister for Railways, here at the PM House, he said the government was taking all measures to improve means of communication and priority was being accorded to linking the remote areas with rest of the country. Gilani said the railways was amongst the most used mode of communication and had access to the far-flung areas of the country. He said that the government gave top priority to facilitate the poor. The Prime Minister asked the Minister for Railways to take effective steps to make the railways compatible with other modes of communication. The Minister for Railways apprised the Prime Minister of current state of affairs, immediate needs and future plans of the Ministry of Railways.
