LAHORE Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and opposition legislators indulged in blame game, this time during Question Hour at the Punjab Assembly floor on Wednesday, levelling allegations and counter allegations against each others leadership. Responding to a supplementary question of opposition legislator Dr Samia Amjad during Question Hour on Board of Revenue, Minister Haji Muhammad Ishaq admitted direct and indirect involvement of MNAs and MPAs in posting and transfer of revenue officials in Rawalpindi. He said 75 patwaris were performing duties against 106 approved posts. He said that 12 patwaris were having additional charge of extra constituencies. He said that the parliamentarians in Rawalpindi were really powerful and important decisions were taken on their will. He said that now the Deputy District Officers (Revenue) would be independent in posting patwaris after the direction of the Apex Court. He expressed hope that the situation would improve after ending the interventions of MNAs and MPAs. Dr Samia Amjad said that no decision could be taken in Rawalpindi without approval from Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Ch Nisar Ali Khan. On a Point of Order, Ghulam Shabbir Awan supported the arguments of Dr Samia Amjad, saying that he was also from Rawalpndi and every important decision was taken by Ch Nisar Ali Khan. Terming statement of Dr Samia Amjad indecent, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that it was the right of elected representatives to monitor performance of officials, appreciate competent and hardworking and get irresponsible transferred. He said that the last regime had spoiled each and every department during five years term. Dr Samia Amjad said that it was a pity that the law minister always talked in such a manner. She said that the law minister should also inform the House about the contribution of a powerful MNA from Rawalpindi in cleansing the filth of last five years. Rana Sanaullah said that one minute was enough to spoil a thing and it required a whole day to correct that wrong. Dr Samia said that Rana Sana was in the habit of instigating others and now he was smiling beneath his moustaches. To a supplementary question of Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan regarding illegal occupation of government land by WAPDA at Abdullahpur canal in Faisalabad, Haji Muhammad Ishaq said that total area of FESCO head office was 486 kanal 09 marla. He said that 135 k and 04 marla government land was in the possession of FESCO. To a question that why the government was not vacating its land from the illegal possession of FESCO, the minister said matter was under consideration at Commissioner office. Expressing concerns over the prevailing situation, Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal asked law minister, minister for revenue and MPA Rana Muhammad Afzal to sit together and solve the issue. To a question, Haji Muhammad Ishaq said that the government has vacated 1796 kanal and 03 marla land in Harbanspura after canceling illegal allotment. The minister, however, failed to give satisfactory reply to the supplementary question of Engineer Qamar-ul-Islam Raja regarding action against officials involved in illegal allotment. The minister said that he was unaware about action against any official. To a question of Mian Naseer Ahmed, the minister said that the government has terminated the service of LAC Amjad Hussain Sandhal after his conviction from the National Accountability Bureau. He said that cases of LAC Muhammad Assad Lali and Rasheed Ahmed were pending with the NAB.
