Two ASIs suspended

LAHORE SP CIA police Omar Virk on Wednesday suspended two policemen and ordered departmental inquiry against them for keeping a citizen in illegal custody for three days. A case has also been registered against the Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs) namely Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Shafique in Ghaziabad police station. According to the police, during an inquiry both the police officials were found guilty as the charges against them for keeping a citizen Muhammad Akram in illegal custody were proved true. The inquiry was conducted on the complaint of father of Muhammad Akram. The complaint told the police that both the policemen picked up his son on the influence of a local businessman Irfan Iqbal Sheikh in connection with a dacoity case. During the inquiry Muhammad Akram was declared innocent and it was established that the policemen implicated him in the case wrongly just to oblige the businessman.
