LAHORE – National Highways and Motorway Police N-5 Central have foiled two attempts of dacoities on national highways and arrested four dacoits involved in felony acts and recovered snatched vehicle, animals, mobile phones and other valuables from them besides helping one child to reunite with his parents during last couple of days.

The officers of N-5 central intercepted a truck (MNB-6655) near Sahiwal which was stolen from a goods transport godown. Three culprits namely Shamshad Ali, Ghulam Hussain and Nisar Ali who were boarding the truck tried to flee but the officers apprehended them. Similarly, six persons tried to snatch a trailer (PT-8891) but when the culprits saw the motorway police, they fled away by taking advantage of the darkness. In another incident, one Aslam of Kasur was arrested for stealing mobile phones from a shop in Sunder and Shahbaz and Aslam of Okara were arrested after they were carrying two stolen buffalos. Separately, Motorway Police officers found an 11-year-old boy who had left home over some domestic dispute. After hectic effort, the officers managed to contact the uncle of the child residing in Okara and the child was handed over to him after necessary verification.
