MULTAN - The workers of the ruling PPP set up a camp outside Multan Press Club on Thursday to express solidarity with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani on occasion of his appearance before Supreme Court. The camp was joined by the activists of different wings of PPP including People’s Youth Organization, People’s Students Federation, People’s Labour Bureau and PPP itself. The participants of the camp carried out non-stop sloganeering in the favour of premier Gillani.

Talking to the journalists, the PPP workers said that the appearance of prime minister before the court on contempt notice proved that PPP believed in rule of law and it fully respected the courts. They added that Youf Raza Gillani was an elected Chief Executive of the country but he did not hesitate to join the proceedings. They said that those advocating the sanctity of courts had been involved in attacking the courts. “The example of Mian Nawaz Sharif is before you. He attacked Supreme Court in 1997 and committed serious contempt,” They added.
