KARACHI – Dr Merajul Huda, provincial leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, has said that Sindh Education Department has failed to take firm action against the ghost schools in Sindh as the number of ghost schools is on the rise.
Talking to a delegation of Tanzeem-e-Asatiza Sindh, he said the children of the rulers study abroad but there are no proper facilities to enroll millions of poor children.
He said according to a report of World Bank in Sindh alone, there are at least 12,000 ghost schools, which speaks loud and clear about the performance of education department. Huda said the feudal politicians would never give education to children of their peasants. He said the feudal rulers have harmed the education sector due to appointments of incompetent people on the basis of nepotism and political loyalty.
He said Jamaat-e-Islami in its electoral manifesto had given priority to education sector. He said without the rule of law and merit, the downslide in the education sector could not be stopped.
He said people should elect honest and capable people to save Pakistani society from further deterioration.
