Bid to foil robbery claims two mill workers’ lives

JHANG - Three armed men killed two workers for offering resistance during a robbery incident took place in a factory here on Saturday.
The three robbers stormed into a power loom factory and were stealing clothes from factory. Meanwhile, Muhammad Ramzan, a resident of Muhalla Gulabwala , Abdul Hameed of Basti Abdullah and Muhammad Asif reached the spot and tried to overpower the outlaws. Meantime, the robbers opened indiscriminate fire on them. Resultantly, Ramzan died on the spot while Abdul Hameed breathed his last on the way to hospital and Muhammad Asif sustained serious injuries and was admitted to DHQ Hospital. His condition is stated to be stable. The armed men managed to escape from the scene. Later, the Jhang city police reached the spot and took the dead body for autopsy and registered a case against unknown culprits.
However, the relatives of the deceased and hundreds dwellers of area and power loom workers staged a protest in front of the DCO Office against the negligence of the police and raised slogans against the administration. They demanded early arrest of the accused.
On the assurance of the DPO Jhang, the protesters dispersed.
