LAHORE – Faisal Mir of Gujranwala was on top in the U-16 age category, Mubraiz Ahmed of Rawalpindi in U-18 and Wamiq Shakeel of Rawalpindi in U-21 on the second day of the trials for selection of team for the Nick Faldo Series Golf Championship in China in April.
The final selection at the end of the final round today (Sunday) will include the top player in each of the age categories U-16, U-18 and U-21. During the second round on Saturday, Mubraiz produced the champions touch and his gross score of 74 was the best of the day which gave him lead with an aggregate score of 158.
Mubraiz pushed overnight leader Mahad Zafar into the second position who is now placed six strokes behind him at 164 followed by Hamza Usman on third with a score of 172. Faisal took the lead in U-16 category with a score of 154 while in U-21 age category, Wamiq is leading with a score of 158. Among the girls, Nushmia Sukhera maintained her lead after two rounds as she is two strokes ahead of Maryam Khan.
