Chaudhary Iftikhar files a defamation suit against Imran Khan

Islamabad- Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary has filed a defamation lawsuit worth Rs 20 billion against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
A legal team of the ex-CJ prepared a draft of the lawsuit, which was filed in a court of district and session judge in Islamabad.
Advocate Taufiq Asif and Advocate Ahsanuddin are representing Chaudhry. The PTI chairman had accused the former chief justice of his involvement in carrying out rigging in May 11, 2013 general election.
Chaudhary had sent a legal notice to Imran over 'defamatory remarks' against him after which a counsel of PTI chief issued a clarification. The ex-CJ withdrew the notice after receiving Imran’s clarification. But, now Iftikhar Chaudhry has to files the case again.
