ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Monday held three ministries including Petroleum and Natural Gas, Finance & Revenue and Water and Power responsible for the ongoing petrol crisis in the country. “Three ministries are responsible for the present shortage of petrol and all these ministers should take responsibility and give their statements in the parliament,” according to an adjournment motion submitted by PPP lawmakers in the National Assembly. The motion was submitted by Nafisa Shah, Shazia Mari, Azra Fazal, Naveed Qamar & Abdul Sattar Bachani.
“The public sector distribution company (Pakistan State Oil) has defaulted on payments which is alarming and demonstrates inefficiency incompetence and callousness of the present government,” says the motion, adding that the PIA, Railways and IPPs have not paid their dues to PSO which is the failure of government.
It says the response of the government by sacking four officials and trading blame from one ministry to the other shows that this is a government created problem.
“It must inform the parliament, why has the government not been able to address it immediately,” says the motion.
