In an interview with CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour, military spokesperson Asim Bajwa said that it was an insult to question the potential of Pakistan Army in the war against militancy.

"It is an insult to the Pakistani people and Pakistani forces if you ask this kind of question," the DG ISPR said.

He further compared the performance Pakistan's military with that of the American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. "Look at the performance of Pakistani forces, they have done an excellent job," he said. “There are no good militants. We are absolutely clear, no confusion in our mind. We are going against all militants,” he added. Bajwa said that the army had cleared a major area of the North Waziristan during Operation Zarb-i-Azb.
