RCB engineer suspended for corruption

Rawalpindi - A building engineer of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (CCB) has been suspended on charges of corruption and mismanagement, reliable sources disclosed to The Nation here on Monday.
“RCB Director Region Sheikh Shahid Shabir showed the door to Building Engineer Muhammad Shohaib in light of departmental inquiry that has been launched against him on public complaints ranging from corruption to misbehave with people in the Cantt and Garrison city,” sources added.
“Muhammad Shohaib has been deputed in Engineering Section of RCB as Building Engineer for last seven years,” sources added.
According to sources, a large number of people turned up before CEO RCB lodging complaints against the BE Muhammad Shohaib of corruption and fighting with people. The major complaint against BE that led to his suspension was allowing the people for illegal constructions first and then pocketing bribe from the violators. CEO RCB Faheem Zafar, however, when contacted, confirmed the development, saying the BE was suspended on charges of corruption after a through departmental inquiry.
Sharing the details of allegations levelled against the suspended officer, CEO asserted that Muhammad Shohaib had given permission to some 28 people for illegal constructions in various parts of Cantt and Garrison.
