PML-N, business community members join PPP

KARACHI - Top Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and business community members in Sindh on Friday announced joining Pakistan People’s Party.

Those who joined PPP included PML-N vice president Israr Mashwani, Farrukh Niaz, Abdul Rehman Hasan Zai and a key business figure Shehzad Natha.

Addressing a press conference at PPP Media Cell along with those joined PPP and PPP Karachi leadership, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro welcomed those joined PPP and said that the new entrants would play an important role in the politics of the Sindh province.

Referring towards the PML-N leadership, Khuhro said that those who term them as popular leaders are now disqualified and their activists are ashamed of their activities and joining other parties.

Criticizing Imran Khan over cursing the parliament, he said that Khan had appeased the dictators and is fooling people through his tactics. He said the Parliament had played a role for the unity of the country and Imran had not only insulted the parliament through his words but also those who had voted him to this sacred institution.

“Those who do not consider parliament as anything are waiting for the dictators to come so that they could join them,” he said PPP had always played politics on the behest of people and respects the parliament and people who vote for it.

Responding to the Naqeeb Mehsud extra-judicial killing case, the PPP leader said that an inquiry is underway for the case and no officer is above the law. “Action could only be taken after thorough inquiry in the case,” he said.

He said that the PML-N failed in Baluchistan due to lack of focus from federal government on Baluchistan issue and this was the real cause of losing the confidence of the representatives of the province.

He also announced that PPP is mulling to register a new FIR in October 18, 2007 incident as no proper FIR could be registered in the case.  “The 12 May incident will also be remembered in our memories,” he said adding that it seems that the courts are unable to see the violence of the 12 May.

Speaking on the occasion, PPP Karachi division president Saeed Ghani said that the people were unable to make decision on their will due to politics of violence from MQM in past but now peace had been restored in the city and people are joining PPP to make it once against the city of lights.
