LAHORE The Supreme Court Bar Association President, Asma Jahangir has expressed serious concern over the restraint exercised on the Sikhs who wanted to worship in the historic temple (gurudawara) in the Punjab metropolis. Through a statement Tuesday, Asma asked the Punjab government to take note of the matter since restraint on the people of any community on worshiping in their religious place is contrary to the Constitution and the sayings of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah who always held the minorities in Pakistan in high esteem and wanted them practicing their religion freely and without restrictions. She said the historic temple in the city has been a place for worship for the Sikh community for the last many centuries and it is highly unreasonable to restrain them from going there.
