Traders asked to declare stocks

Our Staff reporter FAISALABAD - DCO Naseem Sadiq has ordered the traders to declare stocks of essential commodities and directed them to produce the stock record of sugar, rice, pulses, baison, dates, ghee and other daily-use items to the district administration immediately. He warned that undeclared stocks of daily-use items in the warehouses of traders would be confiscated during search operations and criminal cases would also be registered against the violators. He was presiding over a meeting of District Price Control Committee held to review the prevailing market prices of essential commodities and discuss implementation of Ramazan plan here on Tuesday. Appreciating the noble and kind gesture traders for reducing the prices of essential goods during the holy month of Ramazan, the DCO stressed the need for decreasing the prices of essential commodities voluntarily and warned stern action would be taken against profiteers and hoarders. He informed that daily Ramazan bazaars would be set up at 17 different points in the district to provide essential commodities to the consumers on concessionary prices. The DCO also announced holding weekly meeting of district price committee during the month of holy Ramazan for reviewing the prices and arrangements of daily Ramazan bazaars. Among others the meeting was attended by President Anjuman-e-Tajran Kh Shahid Razaaq Sikka, General Secretary Mehmud Alam Jatt, Addl District Collector Muhammad Ahmad, SAO Khalid Manzur, ACs, representatives of organisations of butchers, whole and retail-sellers, flour, ghee and sugar mills, consumers and officers of Agriculture, Livestock, Industries, Market Committee, Labour, Revenue, Food and other departments.
