LAHORE - The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore yesterday announced top positions in the matriculation examination, won by male students mainly hailing from public sector institutions.

First three positions have been secured by Divisional Public School (DPS) Model Town Lahore while third position was also shared by a student of Johar Town public school.

Rana Umar Farman, Roll No 203528, by scoring 1087 marks stood first; Muhammad Shayan Waheed, Roll No 200360, got 1086 marks and secured second position; and Syed Momin Ali, Roll No 200340, scored 1085 marks and claimed third position.

First position in the Science Group girls grabbed by Seemal Saleem d/o Muhammad Saleem, Roll No 132327, with 1083 marks; second position holder was Rimsha Tahir, Roll No 133250, with 1082 marks; and third position was got by Sijal Tariq, Roll no 148523, scoring 1079 marks.

In Arts group first position was claimed by Sabir Ali, Roll No 286531, scoring 1034 marks; second by Muhammad Shahzad, Roll No 308370, getting 1006 marks; and third by Muhammad Usman, Roll No 287165, scoring 994 marks.

In Arts girls Iqra, Roll No 238798, remained on top of the list with 1067 marks; Aysha Khalid, Roll No 270090; and Areej Waseem, Roll No 276242, remained second with 1055 marks.

BISE Chairman Nasrullah Malik announced the results. All the educational boards of Punjab will announce Matric result today.

In Lahore, the overall results will be declared at a ceremony organised at BISE’s office at sharp 10:00am.

Almost 556,134 boys and 506,358 girls appeared in the Matric class Annual Exams 2016. Approximately 216,688 male and female candidates appeared in exams under the supervision of BISE Lahore board.
