Rawalpindi - The lawyers took out a rally yesterday to denounce Indian army’s atrocities against innocent Kashmiris in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK).

Later, the lawyers also marched towards the federal capital to register their protest outside Indian Embassy against Indian atrocities in Kashmir.

The protesters including female lawyers chanted full-throated slogans against Indian PM Modi and his cabinet members and asked them to stop violence in Kashmir.

According to details, the members of District Bar Association gathered at Katcheri Chowk at about 12:00pm and started moving towards Indian Embassy in their vehicles.

The lawyers first went to UN office in Islamabad and submitted a memorandum against atrocities of Indian forces in Kashmir.

Advocate Nisar Inqalabi, who submitted a resolution in the bar against Indian bloodshed in Kashmir, told The Nation that the lawyers after visiting the UN office went towards Indian Embassy; however, the law enforcers did not allow them to go near the embassy. He said that they were planning to stage a sit-in outside the embassy.

The lawyer said the security officials asked them to hand over their resolution condemning the inhuman actions in Kashmir to them. He said that they sent their resolution in English to the Indian embassy officials.

Earlier, Advocate Nisar Inqalabi submitted a resolution in the DBA condemning the barbarianism of Indian forces in Kashmir. He said that the DBA passed the resolution and announced to hold a protest rally on July 19.

In a meeting of the lawyers held in DBA hall yesterday before the rally, the representatives of the bar paid tributes to Kashmiri people for sacrificing their lives for a noble cause and hoisting Pakistani flags.

The lawyers also asked Indian government to end detention of Hurriyat leaders, lift curfew, and allow international media to visit Kashmir. They also asked international community and the international human rights organizations to take notice of the atrocities and violation of human rights in Kashmir.

The meeting was chaired by DBA President Shaukat Rauf Siddiqi, General Secretary Sardar Bilal Qayyum and other representatives.
