LAHORE Appreciating Chief Justice of Pakistan for seeking details of those whose loans were written off after 1971, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hasan has stressed upon across the board accountability and recovery of looted money. Speaking at the inaugural session of Jamaat-e-Islamis Central Executive Council here at Mansoora on Saturday, he said that lack of accountability in the past has encouraged looters and plunderers and the Apex Court has taken the right step of seeking list of those who get their loans written off from 1971 to 2009 from the State Bank of Pakistan. Munawar Hasan said that corruption could by controlled only by setting precedence of recovering looted money. Referring to the military operation in tribal areas, he said that both the army and the rulers had chosen wrong path. He said that the military operation has caused serious resentment among tribesmen. He said that the United States of America was exerting pressure on the rulers to start fresh military operation in North Waziristan and South Punjab. He warned that any such adventure could prove disastrous for the country. He urged the rulers to stop military operation and resolve issues through negotiations.
