LAHORE (APP) - Marriage Hall Owners Association, Canal Bank Mughalpura staged a protest demonstration against the policies of City District Government Lahore (CDGL) for closing down their halls, in front of Lahore Press Club on Saturday. A large number of the buildings owners, caterers and labourers carrying placards and banners were chanting slogans against the district administration. The speakers Naveed Khan and Iqbal Mughal criticised the Lahore Commissioner and town administrations for sealing their banquet halls in the name of traffic control and anti encroachment drive. They were of the view that the CDGL policy will not only effect the dozens of hall owners but also will deprive hundreds of employees of their livelihood. The speakers said that their business was legal and they had been paying taxes regularly. They demanded of the government to give them permission of opening the halls to save hundreds of families from financial hardship.
