LAHORE - Senior leader of PML-Q, Ch Moonis Elahi has alleged that alarming rise in suicide incidents in Punjab is the result of bad economic policies of PML-N led government in the last two and a half years. He expressed these views during a meeting with members of PML-Q Human Rights Wing at his house on Saturday. The meeting was summoned to discuss the implications of the rising number of suicides in Punjab and to explore ways to eradicate causes leading to such unfortunate incidents. Ch Moonis strongly criticised the rulers and held them solely responsible for this trend. He said that Punjab was the hardest hit province regarding incidents of suicides and the highest number of suicides had been reported in Punjab in the last six months. He alleged that PML-N had made false promises with the people during the elections and in the last two and half years they had given them nothing except poverty, unemployment, inflation, crimes and now suicides. 'Q' leader said that PML-N-led government instead of launching the much needed poverty reduction initiatives had come up with poverty production schemes like the Sasti Roti scheme.
