MIRPUR - Leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) AJK and former chairman MDA Chaudhry Muhammad Saddique announced that PPP AJK would observe a week of ceremonies on the birthday of PPP slain chairperson Benazir Bhutto in Mirpur and across the AJK. Addressing a news conference at Kashmir Press Club, Mirpur, here Sunday on the behalf of former AJK PM Barrister Sultan, Saddique said the PPP AJK would set up blood donation camps in Mirpur districts where local leaders of the party including women wing, followers of Benazir Bhutto, party workers and general public would donate blood as a mark of respect for Benazir Bhutto. The main programme in this connection will take place at Central Secretariat of PPP in the city, where the former AJK PM and Chairman Election Campaign Cell Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry will cut the cake and addressed the party workers, he said. Former chairman MDA said the new generation only knew Zulfikar Ali Bhutto as a historical figure, as they only read about him but they knew Benazir Bhutto as a real person. They saw her, met her and loved her, he said. He said donating blood was a noble way to pay tribute to the sacrifices of Benazir Bhutto. Saddique said despite threats to her life, Benazir returned to country with a vision to improve the socio-economic condition of people. The women wing of the party would also organise the cake cutting ceremonies in the district to pay tribute to former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto on the eve of her birthday. Chaudhry Saddique made these annotations flanked by highflying political figures including Secretary General PPP England Tariq Ayyub, Coordinator Chaudhry Shaban, Prof Afzal Mirza, Haji Javed Akram, Ch Mansha, Ejaz Mir, Iftikhar Mir and others. He said Barrister Sultan asked the party workers to donate blood to pay tribute to Benazir Bhutto by serving the anguish people. He pledged to follow the mission of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, which among other great aspects of her grand vision, is also aimed at the welfare of the masses at all costs. He said that founder of Pakistan Peoples Party Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and daughter of east Benazir Bhutto sacrificed for strengthening democracy in the country. BB fought against the terrorists and for the right of people till her last breath, he added.
