Crack down on cars carrying suspicious number plates

LAHORE - City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) have taken departmental action against over 980 motorcars on charges of displaying suspicious, improper and fictitious number plates in a week.
“The CTPL Division took action against 425 vehicles having no number plates, 175 motorcars having improper and suspicious number plates and several motorcycles,” the CTPL spokesman Ali Nawaz said.  He further added that the Saddar Traffic Police Division impounded 126 cars having no number plates, 256 motor vehicles on charges of displaying improper and suspected number plates.
Ali said the CTO Lahore SSP Dr Usman Anwar has ordered the traffic force to initiate an indiscriminate action against violators, those who indulge in wheeling and jeopardize theirs and others.
He said the crackdown would continue till the motorists realize their moral and legal obligation.
