MULTAN - The doctors continued their agitation for the second consecutive day against non-implementation of their service structure here on Tuesday. The strike call was given by Young Doctors Association (YDA) and the medics shut down outdoor patient departments (OPDs) of Nishtar and Children Complex Hospitals.

The YDA had warned the government last Friday that the medics would go on strike across the province from June 18 if their service structure was not implemented. Talking to the journalists, the YDA Multan President Dr Mazhar Chaudhry said that the provincial government backed out of its commitment and forced the doctors to go on strike. He claimed that the service structure was formed but an unseen hand created hurdles in way of its implementation. He warned that the doctors would go on strike for indefinite period if the service structure was not implemented forthwith.
