A HUNGRY squirrel looks to the heavens for its next meal.
Standing on its hind legs with arms outstretched the nut-munching critter seems to be hoping for a little divine intervention.
Amateur snapper Martin Patten took the striking shot at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey.
The 47-year-old from Watford said: “When I first saw the squirrel it was very excitable running around everywhere sniffing out food. “Someone I was with held a nut up in the air and he just reached up for it straight away. He stayed there for a good thirty seconds, it was just like he was pleading with her. I realised straight away that it would be a great picture opportunity as it was such a comedy moment.                        –TS
