UoG partnered with Oklahoma Uni

LAHORE -

US Consulate General Public Affairs Officer Brinille Ellis visited Gujrat to launch a new partnership between the University of Gujrat and Oklahoma University.
This is the first university linkage program in the Punjab, and one of eight university partnerships across Pakistan currently being supported by the US Mission’s Public Affairs Section. The University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communications and the University of Gujrat will work together to develop a three year linkage with the Centre for Media and Communication Studies.
Ms Ellis stated, “The US Government is confident that this partnership will strengthen UoG’s media department and we look forward to seeing how its graduates contribute to the field of journalism.  The US Mission is working with Pakistani institutions to carry out comprehensive education programs that help millions of Pakistani young people rise as far as their hard work will take them.”
The US Mission-supported university linkages provide training and experience to educators from across Pakistan in a variety of disciplines.  More importantly, the university partnerships create institutional linkages that will last long after the formal programs end.  The faculty exchanges and strengthening of academic ties will deepen the people-to-people relationships between the universities and expose faculty and students to the richness and diversity of our respective cultures.
