Dozens of people were injured when Indian police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel used brute force on peaceful protesters in Sopore and Baramulla towns in occupied Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, people at Batpora, Arampora, Muslim Peer, Mahrajpora, Jamia Qadeem, Main Bazaar and adjoining localities in Sopore took to streets and held protest demonstrations against the killing of a youth, Tanveer Ahmad and the atrocities by Special Operation Group and CRPF personnel. The protestors raised pro-liberation and anti-India slogans. They tried to take out a march but the CRPF and policemen fired tear smoke shells and resorted to lathi charge in which about a dozen persons were injured.
