SHEIKHUPURA - National Highway & Motorway Police (NH&MP) IG Wajid Ali Khan Durrani has asked the officers to keep professionalism, courtesy and dedication in minds while performing their duties and play their role in minimising the road accidents.

He was addressing the Junior Patrol Officers after their passing-out parade on completion of 4th Basic Recruit Course at NH&MP Training College Sheikhupura here on Monday.

151 male and 28 female Junior Patrol Officers have passed the Basic Recruit course. DIG Motorways Jehanzeb Khan Jogezai, DIG Training Shahid Yar Khan, Commandant, Deputy Commandant, large number of NH&MP officers and families of pass-out officers also attended the ceremony.

NH&MP IG Wajid Ali Khan Durrani disclosed that the Motorway Police have eliminated negative culture with its good behaviour and professional attitude. He said that in the history of sub-content, Motorway Police have introduced a services-oriented police culture which ended the gape between police and people. The IG informed the media that Transparency International has included the NH&MP among 13 corruption-free departments of the world. Asian Development Bank had declared NH&MP as the Asian Role Model, whereas the government of Pakistan has also recommended this force for UN’s Public Service Award.

Waji Ali Durrani, while emphasising on soft policing, said that the officers should maintain the department’s identity with good behaviour and professional attitude. He said that the new officers should work with enthusiasm, dedication and professionalism because they have become the members of international reputed force.

In 4th Basic Recruit Course, JPO Saddat Hassan took 1st all-round position, lady JPO Shabana Kawsar stood 2nd and JPO Zahid Zulfiqar obtained 3rd position. In firing JPO Muhammad Iddress and in parade, JPO Sheraz Hussain and Lady JPO Gulshan Bibi took 1st positions.

Wajid Ali Khan Durrani also took a general salute from the passing out officers. In the end, he distributed shields and cash prizes among the position-holders and congratulated the new officers for completing their training.
